This ten-night safari in Kenya is not only the epitome of safari chic, it also helps to support community-based tourism to keep the vital balance between the African bush and the people that live within it.
First, ease yourself in gently with a night in Nairobi, where you can relax and recharge following your flight. After a good night’s rest, fly north to Samburu and stay at Saruni Samburu Lodge for three nights. It will offer you an intimate glimpse into the traditions and customs that play a vital role into the daily life of the Samburu tribe. A good portion of the staff are native Samburu warriors and a safari at Saruni (one of Kenya’s luxury safari lodges) is like nowhere else, thanks to the Samburu’s passion for the land and the chance to see first-hand how they track animals. They’ll be your guides as you explore 200,000 acres of unspoiled African bush in search of wildlife – this patch of prime wilderness is particularly known for its herds of Samburu elephants but also for its rare endemic species, the Samburu Special Five: Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Beisa oryx, Somali ostrich and the gerenuk.
You’ll then board a small Cessna plane and head south to the Mara and Hemingways Ol Seki Mara Camp the Naboisho Conservancy, to the north-east of the Masai Mara National Reserve for the second part of your safari in Kenya. These luxury tents in Kenya are in one of the country’s prime safari spots; visitor numbers permitted in Naboisho are limited in order to reduce the amount of safari vehicles in the conservancy, guaranteeing you a more personal encounter on your luxury Kenya tour and allowing the wildlife to fully thrive on the plains. The number of lions in Naboisho is one of the highest in Africa and you’ll be able to see some of the most enchanting animals in Kenya, such as the wild dog, elephants and giraffes.
Filled with nostalgia, you’ll wave goodbye to the team at Ol Seki and then fly to Kenya’s southern coast for the next part of your luxury Kenya tour and immerse yourself in the Swahili beach vibes of Kinondo Kwetu. Enjoy long beach walks, canoeing, snorkelling and swimming in the Indian Ocean, and sipping a delicately prepared dawa cocktail (a Swahili alcoholic ginger beer) in the shade of a palm tree – take a step back and feel inspired by the laidback rhythm of the coast for your final three days.

- Go for a sundowner experience and understand why a sundowner is much more than a drink. You’ll be taken to a unique location chosen by your guide, reflect on the day’s activities, witness the sun setting one more time whilst sipping a drink and tasting a few canapés. Filled with joy, you’ll then head back to the lodge.
- Lose yourself in a stargazing experience exploring the canopy over Saruni Samburu. Ask your guide about the “Big five of the African Sky” and enjoy some of the clearest skies in Kenya.
- Get the best of both worlds on the Naboisho Conservancy – explore a game rich area but with less vehicles than the Mara Game Reserve. The Naboisho Conservancy limits the number of visitors that comes on ensuring a very exclusive safari.
- Track nocturnal species like hippos, aardvarks and porcupines on a night game drive on the Naboisho Conservancy. Feel the cool in the air, listen to the sounds of the bush as night falls and then head back for a home-cooked dinner.
- Safari dining doesn’t come much better than breakfast in the bush. Tuck into a scrumptious breakfast surrounded by pristine wilderness near Hemingways Ol Seki Mara Camp.
