This luxury holiday in Vietnam takes you on an extensive journey with a contrast of bustling cities and serene waterways as you discover Hanoi, Ninh Binh, Lan Ha Bay, Hoi An, Hue and conclude your luxury holiday in Vietnam in Hoi Chi Minh. On exclusive and private tours, learn all about the ancient and French historical landmarks while dining at a homestay, having a royal encounter or meeting with historians.
Starting with the centuries-old architecture you’ll stroll past on a Hanoi tour, you will learn about the 4000-year-old history of this impressive nation as you have a one-on-one chat with local history and culture scholar. Leaving the bustle of the city, discover the 200-year-old Nom Village. Here you’ll meet with the head of the village before setting out to explore the beautiful architecture and visit the holiest place in the village, Nom Pagoda, embedded in a century-old pine forest which is famous for its ancient Buddhist statues.
The next day you’ll drive to Ninh Binh province, one of the most beautiful parts of Vietnam with its dramatic scenery of rice fields, mountains and historical temples. The adventure unfolds with a bike ride around Tho Ha village, a boat trip over a small canal among the verdant paddy fields and exploring inside various natural caves. Taking you to lesser-know parts of the famous Halong Bay, embark on an overnight cruise to Lan Ha Bay. Pass sights like an ancient lighthouse, relax on the sun deck surrounded by incredible views of limestone pillars, tiny tree-topped islets, dive into serene emerald green waters and take part in an open-air cooking class using local ingredients. All before dropping the anchor for the night at a tranquil spot. Either hangout in the unique floating cinema or simply unwind with a cocktail in hand, perfect if you’re planning a luxury honeymoon to Vietnam. In the morning you’ll start your day early with a soothing Tai Chi class before sailing to Frog Lake.
Arriving in Hoi An, one of Vietnam’s World Heritage sites, you’ll stay at the iconic Hotel Royal Hoi and explore the charming city on a guided walking tour that includes Japanese Covered Bridge, over 150-year-old merchant house and Kazik square. Leaving Hoi An for Hue, the former imperial capital of Vietnam where you’ll spend two nights. Here our Travel Designers have arranged a tour of a private temple, not open to the public at An Dinh Palace where you can learn how the younger generations worship their emperor ancestors and the family’s interesting secret beauty recipes. A fun way to explore the charm of Hue is on a Vespa excursion, zip through lesser-known roads to picturesque stops before heading to Vong Canh Hill and visiting a local family for a hosted dinner.
The final stop on your holiday in Vietnam is on a Ho Chi Minh City tour, formerly Saigon, where you’ll take a trip through time. Starting with a guided tour through the Pearl of Indochina with a respected cultural and history expert and finishing with a scenic cruise to the underground labyrinth of Cu Chi.

A restored French colonial hotel dating back to 1901, Sofitel Legend Metropole Hotel is well-located in the heart of Hanoi. It boasts a rich history and a century-long tradition of hospitality for ambassadors, statesmen and writers and it has been an ever-present among the affections of A-listers – Charlie Chaplin and Paulette Goddard had their honeymoon here. Its rattan fans, wrought-iron awnings and butterscotch-tinged marble whisks back to the height of French Indochina in the early 20th century.
The Ginger is a Heritage Line’s new vessel cruising Lan Ha Bay, one of the most peaceful parts of the famous Halong Bay in Vietnam. The boat has elegant suites, naturally light-flooded, and a luxury atmosphere with warm timber floors and marble bathrooms. On board, they also offer exquisite cuisine, an indoor bar as well as a pool on the terrace deck.
Located about 30 minutes by car from Ninh Binh city, sitting on the edge of the Van Long Nature Reserve, a primeval tropical forest, is the Emeralda Resort. Styled after a traditional Vietnamese village with large sized bungalows, the Emeralda offers a charming environment and a perfect base for exploring the Ninh Binh area.
Inspired by the rich heritage of Hoi An town and the love story between Sotaro and Wakaku, Hotel Royal Hoi An is an iconic 5-star hotel in the heart of the city. Combining the delicacy of Japanese touch and the luxury of Indochina architecture, this hotel is the first and only MGallery property in Hoi An, as well as a proud member of the elite collection in Vietnam.
You can’t get a more well-placed hotel in Saigon than the Park Hyatt. Just moments from some of Saigon’s most iconic sights like the Opera House, Notre Dame Cathedral and the Reunification Palace, the hotel itself expertly showcases French colonial architecture. The hotel was also used as a US base during the Vietnam War and the regular broadcasts made from there by DJ Adrian Cronauer were immortalised by Robin Williams in the hit film Good Morning, Vietnam.
